The Spanish arm of Médicins Sans Frontières – MSF Spain will be partnering with Ebola Alert, the Nigerian Ebola prevention and response service in the testing of an Ebola Education Web Application targeted at the urban communities in Ebola affected countries in West Africa.

TheApp, All Against Ebola, applies gamification, storytelling and characterization for communicating basic prevention practices to its users. It showcases real life scenarios and information on how to live healthy in those conditions

To progress to the end of the application, users will take test questions which will graduate users from Apprentice to Intermediate and finally to Advanced Player. In its testing phase, the application hopes to gather feedback from Ebola-literate, tech savvy and gaming minded users – the reason Ebola Alert became the partner of choice.

According to Monica Jimenez, the project managers of All Against Ebola at MSF Spain, “user feedback is key as we hope to use that to drive the next phase of the application development; we therefore urge experts to spare some time to play and share their views in order to advance this initiative.”

“Our participation is based on our keen interest in the application of new and social media technologies for healthcare. We are therefore very interested in the feedback this will test yield as it is key to where we will be heading next with this intervention.
